Dr Peter Ryan

Paediatric and Adult Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeon

Dr Ryan is an Australian-trained adult and paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon with international fellowship training in complex Head and Neck surgery.

He completed his Otolaryngology (ENT) and Head and Neck training in NSW at several major NSW hospitals including Royal North Shore, Westmead, St George and John Hunter Hospitals as well as two tertiary Children's Hospitals: Westmead and John Hunter.

Dr Ryan holds a Master of Surgery (Otorhinolaryngology) from the University of Sydney and, during his training, published several peer-reviewed research papers. He has presented his research at national and international surgical conferences and was awarded the Robert Guerin Research Prize in 2024.

After completing his Australian training, Dr Ryan undertook an additional year-long fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Surgery through the University of Calgary, AB, Canada under the supervision of Professors Robert C. Hart and Shamir P. Chandarana. This fellowship gave him substantial experience in the management of Head and Neck, Thyroid and Parathyroid disorders as well as complex paediatric head and neck conditions.

In addition to his subspecialty interests, Dr Ryan offers comprehensive management of the broad spectrum of Ear, Nose and Throat conditions in adults and children.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr Ryan enjoys time with his four young children, a perspective that complements his experience caring for patients and families in Sydney.
